LuDonne’s great grandparents were some of the early settlers in the Texas Panhandle. Focused on agriculture, her ancestors were hard-working and lived a simple life. With family and home at the center, they passed down through the generations the value of togetherness, and an appreciation for handcrafted heirlooms.

LuDonne’s idea to start a business together with her daughters began several years ago, but with the economy struggling at that time, the dream was put on hold. In the fall of 2016, the timing was right to turn that long-held dream into a reality, one they could share as a family. That dream is Mattie Lu.

Mattie Lu’s central focus is furniture and decor for your home and outdoor spaces. Beauty, craftsmanship, flawless functionality, and heirloom quality are our core company’s central tenants, so we sought out Amish craftsmen who are replicating that same workmanship in this modern day. We work closely with the craftsmen, and have toured their facilities noticing the great detail put into their hardwood furniture and polywood and cedar furniture for Mattie Lu. This attention to detail has been passed down through their family for generations, and will now be a centerpiece for your family to cherish.

At Mattie Lu, you are the designer, and each piece of Amish furniture is made-to-order according to your specifications. You may select an item featured on our website, or send us a picture or drawing of your choosing and we will have one of our Amish craftsmen completely customize a piece that is just right for you.
